The article is devoted to the study of literary texts published in 1921–1922 on the pages of “Ural” newspaper in Ufa. The methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison are used. The author determines the structure, authorship, features of the articles, studies the properties characteristic of this newspaper, highlights the thematic focus of the periodical “Ural”, draws attention to the texts that cover topical issues of the era. She selects literary sketches from diff erent issues of the newspaper, gives a detailed literary analysis of the published small-format works. The material characterizes the literary process of a very complex time and determines the thematic, ideological and content direction of the texts published in the newspaper “Ural”. Using the methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison the author in his study proves that the literary heritage illuminates and helps to understand topical issues of the era, covers a wide variety of topics being a refl ection of the life, household and mood of the people. The article provides an assessment of the thematic and literary artistic merits of the texts. In addition, the main focus is on identifying the basic and prepotent feelings in the poems and on analyzing the system of images in prose. The issue of studying literary texts in the newspaper requires further study in order to systematize and create a complete picture of the refl ection in the periodical of the literary life of that era. This article may be useful to literary scholars, local historians and all those interested in the events of the history of our country in the 20th century.
