This article examines the deep connection between the Kyrgyz epic “Manas” and the work of Chingiz Aitmatov. Special attention is paid to the transformation of the embryo motif from the ancient epic into modern philosophical reflections. The focus is on the parallels between the images of unborn heroes in the epic “Manas” (Manas, Almambet) and the concept of the “Cassandra embryo” in the novel by Ch. Aitmatov “The Tavro of Cassandra”. The research is based on a comprehensive approach that includes intertextual analysis, historical and cultural contextualization and philosophical and thematic analysis. The author traces how the ancient epic motif of the dialogue between the unborn hero and the goddess Umai is transformed into a modern artistic and philosophical warning about the global problems of mankind. The article clearly shows how Ch. Aitmatov creatively rethinks the epic tradition. While the embryo-heroes in “Manas” anticipate their tragic fate and destiny in the world, the Cassandra embryo in the novel “The White Steamer” becomes a symbol of the moral and existential crisis of all mankind. The study reveals the continuity between epic motifs and modern issues, revealing how the writer expands the local epic plot to the scale of a global philosophical understanding of the civilization future. Special attention is paid to the analysis of artistic innovation by Ch. Aitmatov in the development of the theme of spiritual degradation of society. The author compares “Cassandra-embryos” and mankurts. He claims that the writer thinks like an epic hero. This can be seen in his writings and community service. The study significantly expands our understanding of how epic heritage influences modern literature. It shows how ancient motifs can be reinterpreted to reflect the modern challenges of humanity.
