In this study, we aim to explore Altaic benevolence in the context of ritual culture and epic tales. The history of the study of the genre of benevolence in folklore studies began in the middle of the 19th century and continues to this day. Rituals related to calendar cycles and family life often begin with fire worship. In this regard, we set ourselves the task of investigating the phenomenon of the cult of fire in the ritual system of the Altai people. The article discusses benevolence in ritual texts related to calendar and family rituals. We analyze the structure of benevolences, their diversity and the situations in which they are used. Research shows that benevolence plays an important role in human communication with deities and spirits during rituals. We used folklore texts and field records as sources. In the course of our work, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the available materials related to the topic of our article. Among them were research, factual and textual data. We also used a comparative method when analyzing the plots of heroic texts. The scientific novelty of our article lies in the fact that we compared ritual benevolence with the texts of epic tales. This allowed us to expand our understanding of the genre and identify inter-genre connections. Further study of this topic will help us to form a more complete picture of the functioning of ritual benevolence as part of the Altai folklore system.
