The article is devoted to the importance of studying the history of marital conflicts in the context of globalization. The paper considers the protection of traditional family values as one of the key areas of government policy, which is reflected in legislation and various policy documents. The implementation of these measures requires not only legal and financial, but also organizational and other support. Lack of knowledge about family traditions and values leads to acute social problems, such as an increase in the number of divorces, single-parent families and domestic violence. All this, in turn, has a negative impact on the demographic situation. One of the reasons for these problems is the lack of effective tools for resolving and preventing marital conflicts. It is difficult to develop such tools and methods because there is not enough information about the historical experience of overcoming marital conflicts. Preserving the institution of marriage requires not only a review of legislation, ideology and measures to support families, but also a deep understanding of historical experience. These factors determine the relevance and significance of this article. The article uses the results of a study conducted under a grant from the Russian Science Foundation on the history of marital conflict. The study allows us to conclude that studying the experience of the past helps to rethink existing methods of solving family problems, to avoid repeating previous mistakes in the present and future. Experience also shows how the positive potential of social institutions, including traditional faiths, can be used to solve problems facing the state and society. It is important not only to understand the traditions, legal norms and practices of the institutions of the period under study (the second half of the 19^th – early 20^th century), but also to draw lessons for the present. In this context, historical experience can serve as a source that will help preserve national cultural identity by adapting accumulated knowledge to modern challenges. Within the framework of the conducted research, methods of resolving and preventing marital conflicts that can be used in modern practice have been identified. This applies both to the development of normative legal acts in the field of family policy, as well as educational and educational activities and social education.
